Within the leisure suite of this substantial Hampstead residence, a private cinema sits alongside the property’s indoor swimming pool and spa facilities. The brief for this project was to introduce seating that would elevate the comfort and visual character of the room while remaining entirely sympathetic to the existing interior architecture.
In homes of this calibre, cinema seating is not simply a functional element — it forms a central part of the room’s design language. The objective was therefore to create a seating arrangement that delivered exceptional comfort while complementing the calm, refined palette of the surrounding interior.
Designed for Comfort and Presence
The cinema features two rows of three reclining seats, arranged to provide balanced viewing angles across the room while maintaining generous personal space.
Each seat is upholstered in premium Italian full-grain leather, selected in a striking blue tone that introduces subtle contrast within the otherwise muted environment. Against the metallic grey carpet, custom joinery and soft fabric wall panelling, the seating becomes a deliberate focal point without overwhelming the room.
Motorised recline, footrest and adjustable headrests allow viewers to fine-tune their seating position, while integrated massage and heating functions enhance comfort during longer film sessions.
Discreet cupholders, trays and integrated control touchpanel mounts ensure that the seating supports the wider cinema experience without introducing visual clutter.
